The first test of the See-mi system took place in Skanderborg in 2006. It was carried out at just one junction and with the use of first generation See-mi technology. The test was given a favourable welcome and was a great success.
Since the test in Skanderborg, the system has undergone significant development. As a result, during November and December 2007, See-mi will collaborate with Grenaa Municipality, the road authorities and the police to conduct a new, extensive test of the See-mi system.
The See-mi system is almost fully developed and is now based on production-ready technology. Therefore, See-mi wishes to test the system on a larger scale and in realistic conditions in order to study the effect and durability of the system.
In collaboration with the relevant authorities, See-mi has set up the system at seven junctions around Grenaa. The junctions have been chosen in agreement with the local authorities, and the focus has been on equipping junctions that are believed to represent a risk of right-turn accidents.

The participants in the test, at present almost 300, are primarily cyclists from schools and workplaces in the locality. The participants are each issued with a free-of-charge reflector with an in-built transmitter to be used for the duration of the test period. The reflector is a standard reflector to be mounted on the front of the bicycle – only with See-mi technology incorporated.
